As an outdoor attraction, weather plays a significant role in our daily operations. In the event of high winds or storms, zipline tours may be suspended. If it becomes necessary to close the course after you book your tour, you will be rescheduled for another tour the following day or receive a voucher to use during your next visit.

OPTION #2: Book a Royal Gorge 1/2 Day Jeep Tour & Zip Line Package by Colorado Jeep Tours. Royal Gorge off-road jeep tours are about 4 hours long, and leave from (and return to) Cañon City. During the jeep tour, they drive you to (and through) the Royal Gorge Park, stopping for zip line riders to zip across the gorge, then continue on the jeep tour, concluding back in Cañon City. If there are people in your party who want to jeep, but NOT want to ride the Zip, they would book the Royal Gorge Jeep Tour and simply stay in the jeep while the others ride the Zip.

My wife and I did the zip line tour with our 15-year-old daughter in January 2019. The location is beautiful. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I thought the way they have the course setup, working you up from short simple runs to longer and more complex ones were very smart.

While enjoying the sport, some movement can see your kids place their fingers on the upper part of the trolley. If the pulleys are exposed, the fingers might get caught up between the cable and the pulleys, which would be very painful.However, fully enclosed carriages eliminate the possibility of this happening by keeping all the rolling mechanisms covered. The design also helps maximize durability by keeping the pulleys and bearings protected from the elements.LengthOutside of safety, another vital factor to consider is the length of the cable. For backyard kits, it can range anywhere from 50 to 500 feet. While shorter lines will be cheaper for obvious reasons, your kids may find themselves wanting to go longer distances as they grow up.Remember, there are the sections that wrap around trees to suspend the cable in the air. Therefore, it will be shorter after setting up.

Parents/Guardians are not required to ride the zipline with their children; however, 10-15 year old children must be accompanied by an adult throughout the duration of the ride for waivers and supervision.

All participants must sign a waiver upon purchasing tickets. Participants under 18 must have a waiver signed by a legal guardian and must be accompanied by an adult. All participants will be asked to weigh in on scale that will privately confirm your body weight to our check-on staff. The ticket purchase is responsible for confirming all participants comply with our weight and height guidelines. Refunds will not be offered if a participant does not meet weight or height requirements.

The Canopy Zip Lines is a great addition to our Canopy Explorer Ropes Course. Take a ride in the sky on one of our zip lines high above the Texas Hill Country. Propel down 5 separate zip lines dropping from 600 feet above sea level with one run that is 1,100 lineal feet long all on its own. This incredible Catalina zip line experience will forever change your idea of what a tour should be. You will travel nearly three-quarters of a mile over five consecutive zip lines at heights of 300 feet above the canyon floor at speeds pushing 40 mph.

Beginning at the Hogsback Gate, high in the hills near Avalon and descending through Descanso Canyon, you will pause at several eco-stations along the way before continuing on your zip line journey. At each station, your hosts will give you a presentation on some of the unique and interesting aspects of Catalina Island, its wildlife, history, and the areas you are passing through. Eventually exiting at Descanso Beach, your Catalina Island zip line journey will last approximately 2 hours and your memories will last a lifetime.

Zip line staff is in no way obligated to begin or complete a tour for a participant or group that appears to be impaired, ignoring staff instructions, or that is found in any way to be endangering the safety of themselves, others or the course environment. Such participants and/or those found disturbing the peace of other guests with profanity, vulgarity or otherwise will be kindly evacuated from the course and not allowed to continue the tour. Refunds or rescheduling will not be offered in either of these situations. Smoking is not allowed while on the tour.

We attached the highest point of our zip line to the top of our tree stump in our backyard. My husband sawed some grooves into the tree stump. Then he wrapped the end of the 125-foot cable around the stump and then over the top.

We attached the opposite end of the cable to an apricot tree on the other side of our backyard using a giant slackline ratchet. We doubled up a strap from an old tie down and fed it through the ratchet until it was super tight.

First, place the dual trolley on the cable, then add the carabiner below that. Then, tie a rope onto the carabiner. You can add one or two additional carabiners to the rope below that and then wrap or unwrap the rope around the carabiner depending on the height of the person riding the zipline. Finally, add the seat and an additional rope (see the image above).

If your zip line is really fast, you may want to add a break at the bottom. You can buy a spring zip line brake or you can make your own. My husband designed a makeshift brake from the same material we used from the seat. We attached the board to the cable below the trolley and then attached that to an adjacent branch on the tree using a rope. It worked great.
